Mother's Day

The entire month of May it rained in Texas this year. We got a record breaking nearly 17 inches of rain, just in May alone! So you won't be surprised if I tell you that it was raining on Mother's Day this year.

{Secret's out... I'm actually writing this post in June. Side note: As a teacher, May is one of the busiest months of the year. On top of that, we celebrate lots in our family in May so it has been a bit harder to keep up with the blog over the last month. Oops!}

On Saturday, we went shoe shopping as it is part of our family Mother's Day tradition! I ended up with a perfect pair of sandals that are made of a hard plastic material & totally waterproof. Also some white converse tennies, which I love.

I was determined to have brunch on Mother's Day so after I taught Sunday School, I met up with Justin and the girls for a very wet brunch. It was a good thing I had those waterproof sandals! The food was yummy and the company was perfect and we spent most of the rest of the day relaxing.

Mother's Day has become one of my most favorite days of the year. I can still remember holding both of my sweet babies for the first time and there is absolutely no other feeling like that. Being a mommy can be so incredibly challenging but also so incredibly rewarding. Every day there is some challenge, some decision, some battle you have to fight. But on Mother's Day things just seem to come into focus and you can enjoy them just as they are. I love my sweet baby girls and am so incredibly proud to be their mommy!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there!
