December Fun

Here are some highlights from the fun we had this December:

We went to the Christkindl market in Arlington with Grandma & cousin Hunter! We saw Santa and Janie did a lot better this time around. I am convinced it was because he was handing out candy canes... It was a pretty cold day. We tried to stay bundled up.

I took the girls to the public library for an evening story time, craft, and LIVE reindeer! The girls had a good time with all the reindeer fun even though we had to wait in a pretty significant line to see the real one. I wasn't sure how the girls might respond since the last time I took Nora to see a live reindeer {right before Janie was born} she was TERRIFIED.

Santa & Mrs. Claus always come to the girls' school for breakfast one day in December. We got to eat with them and get a cute picture out of it. Janie didn't seem to mind Mrs. Claus!

It got cold enough to light a fire in our fireplace for the first time! Precious babes checking it out.

We kept on with the tradition of making a gingerbread house. This is our third year now, I think? The girls had fun sharing and decorating the house with lots of little candies! Nora continued the tradition of wanting the decorations to match what was on the box and Janie proved to care less what a picture showed and did her own thing, eating along the way. That's my girls!

And finally, we went on the Polar Express as a family. We did this last year and I made sure to buy tickets early this year, too. The girls had fun though Nora asked waayyy too many questions. She has since asked to go again, "at night this time," and I hope the magic will stay alive for her! They filled out letters to Santa on the train, which may have happened because it was far too cold to do this outside the train, but it was a nice touch. We made it back home for bedtime!

Excited much??

She giggled when I asked if she had been naughty or nice...

We are ready for Santa & Christmas!
