After another month, she is now...
babbles a little Nora sure does love the sound of her own voice. She likes to talk to herself in the car, in her crib, on the changing table... anywhere really. I've been working on "ma ma ma" hehe!
loves music It is so cute how she gets a huge smile on her face when you start singing to her! I love seeing that big smile...
"waves" hello/good-bye to people {well, inanimate objects, too} We're still working on encouraging her to wave "bye bye" and "hello". She is so stinkin' cute!
is ticklish on her tummy I've been trying to capture her laughing on video for awhile but it sure is difficult when you're by yourself. Plus, by the time I think "Man, she's cute." and go for my camera, she has had enough and wants to do something else. Oh, well.
thinks daddy is hilarious Of course he is! We've been face-timing with Justin when he is out of town. She didn't get it at first (a couple months ago) but now she really likes it. At least for awhile. She will smile and talk to daddy on the phone. Then, she just wants to grab the phone and eat it. Then she starts complaining for either food or bedtime. And that's the end of face time.
rolling {all} around Nora has been doing less rolling since she is moving around better in other ways but she is not afraid to use the roll if she needs it!
"scooting" around This is Nora's preferred method of getting around now. She has gone up to her knees a few times this past weekend, rocking maybe just a little, but then she falls back to her belly. She is slowly but surely getting to crawling. She is figuring out how to get around by scooting just fine in the meantime, though.
{almost} sitting unsupported Nora's balance has gotten pretty good when sitting! She as even begun pulling herself up to sitting when she is crawling and scooting around on her tummy. I feel comfortable leaving her on the floor sitting to play in her play room and walking away for a bit to take care of something.
bears weight on her legs Nora actually really enjoys standing and "walking". She will take steps when helped with balance and standing. She gets pretty impressed with herself actually.
eats fruits, veggies, and cereal Nora has been eating quite a bit better since I started mixing her foods together. In the past couple weeks she has started eating whole milk yogurt and pureed chicken as well. She usually has oatmeal, yogurt & fruit for breakfast, veggies, chicken, and fruit for lunch, and veggies, chicken, and rice cereal for dinner. She does pretty good with eating "puffs" (picking up cereal) and I am curious how she will do with some actual finger foods but I'm nervous to try any quite yet. Maybe this month I'll try out some soft veggies...
splashes in tub Woah. Nora loves to play in the bath tub! It's pretty cute but you have to be prepared.
recognizes and reaches for people She discovered my earrings this past week. I don't even wear dangly ones - just studs. She is also now purposefully reaching and grabbing on to my hair. Hmmm. I will be working on "ouch" with her.
tries to feel & eat everything she can Nora discovered the tile floors recently. She thinks they are pretty spectacular. She rubs her hands on them like she has never felt them before in her life. And then I think, "She has never felt them before in her life." Not with her hands, at least.
turns pages in her books I just happen to love that she does this. Maybe it's the reading teacher in me, but I am just so proud that she is participating in our daily reading! When given a book on her own she just eats it though. Oh well...
