Water Wednesday: Painting with Water

This week I took the girls outside to paint with water on the sidewalk. I wanted the freedom to be able to go back in the house to check the timer for dinner or refill water cups, so we opted for the backyard rather than the drive way.

The girls each got a plastic cup of water and a few paintbrushes and we went to town on the paver stones. Nora seemed to like it but it didn't keep Janie as entertained as I would have liked. She ended up spilling lots of water on the pavement and then on herself.

After about 10 minutes, we ended up heading back inside as both girls wanted to come in and play. My plan is to introduce more activities with water each time we go out in hopes that they might spend more time outside doing all of the activities that we've tried together! Overall, I think they liked doing the water painting but for whatever reason today it wasn't as successful. We will try again soon!
