Oktoberfest

I love the month of October! The fall family fun begins and it starts to feel like the holidays are coming. One of the first things we always do in the month of October is go to a local Oktoberfest celebration as a complete family. That's right, Ford tags along! The Oktoberfest near us does weiner dog races and a long time ago we would take Ford and race him, but now he is just a spectator.

We loaded up the family and went to walk around the festival. We ate some festival food, listened to some music, saw a lot of little dachshunds, and headed on our merry way.

Tried to get a picture of Ford & this one just looks silly!

The girls were obsessed with walking the dog. It was a big battle all morning!

We had a good time at Oktoberfest, even though our time there is always short lived with the girls being so young. We are thankful that Grandpa comes and walks around with us.

We ended up getting rear ended on the way home from Oktoberfest this year. It was a moderate accident and everyone was alright, though my car did require quite a bit of repair. {The girls carseats are getting replaced.} We did have Ford in the car with us and the people who hit us also had their dachshund. And the people who came to pick them up had a dachshund in their car! So the wild month of October was kicked off with a bit of fun and a bit of the unexpected, but we are happy that the car is the only thing in need of repair. The saddest part of the whole day was actually that we did not end up winning the Texas vs. OU football game that happened that afternoon! I also didn't get a picture of the kids watching the game. Terrible!!

More to come this October. Hoping for more fun and less of the unexpected!!
