Of course, I couldn't wait for the weekend to celebrate one of my favorite months of the year...
The girls each got some festive goodies in the morning.
They love those window clings! The itty bitty dolls are going to be their Halloween costumes!!
Even though it was at least 90 degrees outside, they had to wear some cute festive clothes.
Janie wasn't too into it...
...but as you can see, later warmed up to the idea of October. I think she's going to love it!
We love going to Oktoberfest with Ford, and have gone since before we were married even. Ford once was even a participant in the weenie dog races, but since our hands are more full and he was never really that great at it, we have taken a spectator role as of the last few years. Even still, the girls put on their doxie dresses and we headed out to the festival with our little Ford! Nora wanted to walk him, and he essentially pulled her the whole time, but later we figured out how to rig the leash so that two of us could hold the leash at the same time.
Being cheesy...
Taking a wagon ride!
Sharing a corn dog.
Janie got sleepy towards the end...
This is Nora's first ever face cut-out photo!
Our sweet girls & Ford!
We decided that next year may finally be the year that we could actually enjoy some Oktoberfest "snacks" though we're not going to hold our breath...
We ended the day with a Halloween movie in our new Halloween jammies!
Sunday we lounged around in the morning & I even had an adventure in baking as I tried making cinnamon rolls from scratch. They turned out yummy, but we didn't really get to eat them until lunch time.
Before cooking & icing...
After naps, we headed to the pumpkin patch to pick out a couple of small pumpkins, see some animals, and of course, take pictures.
Checking out the farm animals...
Playing in the house made of hay!
Taking a little tractor ride...
Wagon ride around the pumpkin patch.
Janie picking her pumpkin!
Getting sleepy...
We finished the weekend with a trip to Sonic for an ice cream treat! Yum!
