Three Years

Nora turned three years old this September. It has been such a joy watching this sweet girl grow up a little more each day!

We went to visit her pediatrician for her well visit & everything checked out!

Nora Lane {Three Years}
WEIGHT: 30 pounds
HEIGHT: 36 1/2 inches

Nora is not quite as tall on the growth charts as she has been in the past but she is still a normal height and weight and has an average height prediction. Nora has not been as interested in doing more active things as much as she has academic & creative activities, but she has been showing improvements with her gross motor skills such as jumping & running lately. She has liked to play a hopping game in the living room which we think may be coming from her dance class. Nora has been taking an introductory dance class with ballet & tap since August, and had a five-week dance class this past summer as well. Nora enjoys her dance class each week and I am excited to see what she can show she knows after more time goes by! She also took swim lessons this summer, which she loved, so we may look into that as a more consistent activity in the spring as well.

Reading books while waiting for dance class.

Hopping around with daddy.
P.S. Janie's reaction is the best!!

Nora has been working at school on more fine motor activities like coloring & writing. She has been practicing writing her names and tracing objects, letters & numbers. She does better with her grip but still holds her crayons with a fist sometimes. She loves learning & art activities as well as games, though she doesn't always know how to follow the rules! She can spell her name, identify most letters, and count fairly well. She remembers a lot of things {too much sometimes} like where her friend is moving to and details of things we have done in the past.

Spelling her name.

Nora started preschool this fall!

Nora is a very sweet little girl and knows right from wrong but lately she has been throwing some pretty substantial little fits that have been driving mommy crazy. I'm hoping that it is a phase and not a "three" thing but with time hopefully it will improve.

Not wanting to wake up!

Three is a fun age, but a challenging age... so far at least! We are loving each day with our sweet Nora!
