Christmas Week

We spent most of our days this week of Christmas seeing our closest friends & family, enjoying great food, and exchanging gifts. The girls have had lots of fun this week and we feel very fortunate to have had such a great week with them and those we love.

We were able to have Christmas with both Mimi & Pops, Grandma & Grandpa this week. We also were able to get together with our good friends. The girls loved seeing their favorite people!

Janie & Charlie... matching friends!

Christmas Eve with Grandpa

A couple days before Christmas we took the girls to see the Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway. It took longer than I thought it would to drive through and see the lights {and the girls got a bit tired}, but the girls had fun running back and forth in the back seat to see everything.

Watching the lights out the back seat windows.

Nora and a big bear on the inside of the race track!

On Christmas Eve we baked some sugar cookies with sprinkles {per Nora's request} to leave for Santa! We only had heart shaped cookie cutters - how crazy is that!?! - but they turned out Christmas-y enough for us! They were very yummy cookies since mommy added her favorite, almond extract. We did also go to candlelight service at church, but I didn't get any cute pictures of that.

We all wished and hoped that Santa would come visit us and went to bed on Christmas Eve excited for what the morning would bring!!

The girls slept in on Christmas morning, which was so strange!! But good news... Santa came!! He left lots of fun things for the girls and filled our stockings.

The girls had fun opening and looking at their gifts and stockings. Santa brought them a dress up station filled with fun items. He brought Nora some things she had asked for, including a reindeer {she named it Rudolph}, a yellow bow, and a flashlight. Janie got cupcakes from Santa! We gave the girls a doll stroller, some doll accessories, & each got their own baby. Nora was given a Bitty Baby, which was mine when I was younger! I cleaned it up and gifted it to her, complete with the original diaper bag, accessories, & a snowsuit. {Is that considered vintage???} They also each received a book & an outfit, but of course those are not what they were most excited about!

We ate a fancy dinner: rack of lamb, green bean bundles, and roasted potatoes & snuggled up to watch a holiday movie on the couch. We stayed in our jammies ALL DAY and it was fabulous.

Okay, I guess Justin didn't. But the rest of us did!!

It has been a wonderful Christmas!! Next up, Janie and I will be traveling to Chicago to see extended family & celebrate some more!
