Summer Week Four

The last week of June! Nooooo!

We became members at the Fort Worth Zoo last time we visited, and I wanted to take advantage of the member Mondays before there were no more, so we planned a zoo trip for this week. We tried to get there at nine {they open an hour early Mondays in June for members} so that we could make the most of our day. Mom and dad braved the heat and the animals and the children to come along with me. We had a fun day looking at the animals and checking out a whole lot of the zoo! {P.S. don't you dare tell my kids there is a splash pad there because we are never able to get to it!!} We ate our packed lunch inside the air conditioned food court, which is the absolute only place you should ever eat your lunch at the zoo on a warm day, and then walked around even more. We spent about 4 1/2 hours at the zoo which is a loooong outing for toddlers. We did get to ride the carousel and the train for free, which I hadn't known would be part of the perks. The girls will probably expect that out of every outing to the zoo now, but it was a fun, fun day!

Silly girl at lunch!

Train ride!

We saw the baby gorilla!

Also, baby flamingos.

I also got a significant chunk of my hair cut off this week. It's still pretty long considerably, but I probably took six inches off. Maybe more.

Swim classes resumed and of course our weekly movie, but other than that it was business as usual. A pretty low-key week minus the big outing to the zoo. Oh, and Janie turned two & a half! Eek!

Big girl on her half birthday!

We are gearing up for Fourth of July fun this coming weekend!
