Weekend Wrap: Pumpkin Carving

We had a fun weekend getting ready for Halloween!

On Saturday, I got some help to make pumpkin pancakes, which the girls always love to eat! It is becoming another one of Janie's favorite things to ask for all of the time, even though we don't have them often!

I braved the rainy weather and took Janie to Target for a little shopping time. We got to see Auntie K there, which is always a plus!

Saturday evening we had a Halloween Bash to attend so the girls got to wear their costumes around town, do a little early trick-or-treating, participate in some fun Halloween activities, and dance with their friends!

Sunday the rain calmed down for a second and we were able to go pick out a pumpkin to carve from a pumpkin patch close by. Nora found lots of pumpkins that she wanted to take home while Janie finished having a tantrum outside the car. Once she was finished, we wheeled our "perfect" pumpkin out & took it home to carve it!

The girls were both a bit hesitant about getting messy, but helped daddy take out the gooey insides of the pumpkin. We separated the seeds so that we could roast them and then Nora picked out the shapes for the eyes and nose. She requested a "happy pumpkin face" for the jack-o-lantern.

The girls proudly displayed the pumpkin on the front porch & we went inside for a movie! We roasted the pumpkin seeds and the girls liked both of the flavors that we made: ranch & cinnamon sugar.

It was a successful & festive weekend at the Peipert house!!
