Happy Fourth

We had two great days celebrating our freedom!

We like to go see fireworks and celebrate on the 3rd of July at our Town Square, which is what Justin & I both grew up doing here in Texas. This year, we went around dinner time, staked out a place to sit, and ate dinner inside where it was cool, giving us just enough time to walk around and see some fun things and head back to our spot before the fireworks started. We went with some friends and Mimi & Pops joined us for fireworks. Being that we were out way past both of the girls bedtimes and that Nora didn't take a nap at all that day, everything went really well! Nora really liked the fireworks {again} and Janie warmed up to them after a few minutes of uncertainty. We were very happy with how the afternoon went.

Making a star shaped fan!

This never happens.

Especially before this one falls asleep...

We woke up on the fourth a little later than usual and made a pancake & egg breakfast! We decided to take a walk around the block while it was still cooler, which it ended up not being cool at all. After sweating through some bubble time in the driveway, we headed inside for a snack. Nora helped me make some popsicles for later in the evening using greek yogurt, honey, & cherries. She was SUPER excited about the popsicles and they ended up being yummy & a big hit with the girls, too.

Pancakes & eggs!

I couldn't help myself...
She can't stop eating for a picture!

Taking a walk through the neighborhood.

Trying to figure out that bell thing.

Bubbles!

Proud of her popsicles.

After nap & rest time, Mimi & Pops came over and we let the girls play in the pool until dinner time. They really enjoyed the tiny outdoor pool & were pretty cute to watch! Grandpa joined us and dinner was from the grill along with some watermelon & potato salad - I felt like we had a true little cookout and it was perfect. We all tested out the popsicles and then headed inside to finish a movie before getting the girls to bed at a normal time.

Red, white, & blue babes!

Nothing but love. For now.

Janie is happy as a clam swimming in the backyard!

They were hysterical!

Watermelon!

And now, the popsicles...

Janie could not figure out how to eat it.

Good thing we had that pool out!!

We had two great days as a family! I sure missed them while I was gone!

We had to say goodbye a bit early to our window stars,
but they were fun while they lasted!
