The family at brunch!
Nora had her last dance class for the summer this week so we took a picture with her sweet teacher and high school friend of Justin & I's, Miss Devin! She is a tough cookie to take on a group of two year olds. Nora is signed up to take more dance classes this fall and will hopefully get to do a little bit of tap dancing in addition to her ballet.
We ran some errands this week but had more time at home to play. The girls started a new game where they walk around and sing songs together, while simultaneously banging on their IKEA pots & pans with plastic utensils. It's cute, really. But very noisy!

We took a trip to the Perot Museum in Dallas this week. I love that they let teachers in for free! Children under two are free, so I only had to buy Nora a ticket. It always amazes me how there are so many different things in the Perot Museum for visitors of all ages. First, we went to the children's area on the lower level. This is really for kids who are five and under and both girls had a good time in the different areas for playing & building.

They also liked playing with a little camping area set up and a pretend farmers market. Janie liked a flower area where she could move around some fake flowers from place to place.
The museum itself has 4 other areas to look around in: a Birds Exhibit floor, a Life Then & Now floor (dinosaurs!), an Earth & Minerals floor, and a Life, Humans, & Engineering floor. There were lots of things we didn't even have the chance to do or look at because either the girls were not interested or there were other kids using some of the different things. And we really couldn't have spent a whole lot more time in the museum because we were losing the girls quickly. I just like that the museum seems to offer more and more for the kids as they get older. After eating a snack, we ventured into the different floors of the museum.

When we had done about all we could, we ate lunch in the cafe and then went outside to the girls most favorite part... the outdoor water area! I brought changes of clothes as I learned from the first time that we visited to come prepared for them to get wet. Last year, Nora fell right on her bottom in the water. This year, Nora did not want her clothes to get wet and Janie didn't seem to care in the least as she just flat out sat in the water on purpose. So we played awhile until everyone got tired and then made the trek back to the car.
It was 100 degrees when we left the museum at 1:30. SO HOT!! The temperatures have really been picking up these last few weeks.

August is tomorrow & school is on the horizon. Next week will be our last week at home together and also when we start having work done in our kitchen. I can't believe it!!
